Hello all,
Mark your calendar for our next Let’s Talk Vero at Riverside Theatre gathering, which will take place on Wednesday, October 22, from 5 – 7 pm -- the same day as the annual fall County Legislative Delegation meeting with Senator Erin Grall and Representative Robbie Brackett.
Topics for discussion at Let's Talk Vero will include:
What the City and the County are asking Senator Grall and Representative Brackett to champion for us up in Tallahassee (see more about this below)
More airline and airport updates
And other important topics
Airlines and Growth Concerns:
Speaking of airlines and growth, if you missed last week's Let's Talk Vero, you won't want to miss the replay here.
GROWTH
Scroll to the 12:20 mark to hear Monte Falls talk about County growth and its implications on the City of Vero Beach. And then a deeper dive and robust discussion about growth challenges at the 44:20 mark.
AIRLINES
Scroll to the 16:04 mark to learn all about the airlines -- Jet Blue, American and Breeze. There are still many questions to answer, especially about parking and airport facilities expansion. Mayor Cotugno will be happy to answer more on the 22nd. He's also looking into seeing if the flight path can be changed for the flight safety school, as it's those planes that make the most noise. Lastly, it's important to note that the FAA—not the City—sets the rules and regulations for airport operations, meaning local officials cannot control airline routes or restrict carriers from coming to Vero Beach as long they comply with federal standards and capacity limits. More to be discussed on the 22nd.
Senator Grall & Representative Brackett:
The annual Fall Legislative Delegation meeting will take place the same morning as Let's Talk Vero at Riverside Theatre on (Wednesday, October 22), from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the County Commission Chambers (1801 27th Street, Vero Beach).
Background:
Each fall, city and county leaders, nonprofits, businesses, and residents gather to spotlight the community’s top priorities—schools, healthcare, housing, the lagoon, arts, and more.
The ideas outlined here don’t just stay local; they help shape what Erin Grall and Robbie Brackett advocate for in Tallahassee, making it truly one of the year’s most important conversations.
Register to SpeakTo speak or submit questions, email Representative Robbie Brackett at Robert.Brackett@flhouse.gov by October 10, 2025. Only registrations submitted by this deadline can be included on the official agenda.
